                                              VILLAGE LEADERSHIP STABILIZATION SCHOOL

THIS MONTH'S SCHOOL WAS HELD IN THE VILLAGE OF SEREKOGI. THIS IS A NEW CONGREGATION STARTED EARLIER THIS YEAR. WE EXPERIENCED OUR LARGEST ENROLLMENT TO DATE WITH 60 ATTENDING. WE BUSSED IN MEN FROM 5 OTHER CONGREGATIONS TO ATTEND. (WE NOW HAVE A BUS WITH A BAD ENGINE SITTING IDLE UNTIL WE CAN COME UP WITH $500 TO REPAIR IT.) OUR FAMILY WAS ACCOMPANIED BY GLENN FARMER AND BY ELIZABETH PHYPERS AND CAMI BOX FROM LAE. WE SET UP TWO TENTS ON THE 7500' MOUNTAIN TOP AND LIVED THERE SUNDAY THRU FRIDAY.

I TAUGHT EPHESIANS DURING THE MORNING AND GLENN FARMER TAUGHT TITUS IN THE AFTERNOON. THE GIRLS HELD CLASSES FOR THE CHILDREN DURING THE AFTERNOON THIS VILLAGE IS LOCATED IN A VERY STRONG 7 DAY ADVENTIST AREA '0 SAY THE LEAST WE RAN INTO OPPOSITION WE JUST LET PAUL REFUTE THEIR ERRORS FROM HEBREWS AND EPH.. THE LAST DAY THEY WANTED TO DEBATE... THEY USED THEIR LITTLE BOOK WE OPENED THE BIBLE. AFTER 20 MINS ONE OF THE VILLAGE LEADERS STOOD UP AND SAID, WE NOW SEE FROM THE BIBLE THAT WE ARE NOT FOLLOWING GOD'S PLAN AND WE WANT TO STUDY MORE

I HITCHED A RIDE INTO TOWN AND SPENT THE REST 0F THE DAY REPAIRING THE CAR IN PREPARATION FOR THE SCHOOL ON SUNDAY. THE SCHOOL WAS A HUGE SUCCESS FOR THE VILLAGERS AS WELL AS MYSELF. I HAD BEEN PUTTING 16-20 hrs A DAY ON THE HOUSE AND I NEEDED THE BREAK.

THE RAINY SEASON CONTINUES WITHOUT END IT SEEMS. I HAVE FINALLY PATCHED UP ALL THE HOLES IN THE ROOF OF THE HOUSE. NEXT MONTH WE'LL TELL YOU ABOUT OUR MOVING IN.

FOR YOU WHO KEEP ABREAST OF OUR LABORS, YOU'VE PROBABLY NOTICED IN OUR NEWSLETTERS THROUGHOUT THE PAST YEAR THAT THE AMERICAN DOLLAR HAS PLUNGED IN VALUE OVER HERE ABOUT 20%. WE WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU WHO NOW HELP US MONTHLY IF YOU WOULD INCREASE YOUR MONTHLY SUPPORT BY 20 %, AT LEAST, TO ENABLE US TO HAVE THE NECESSARY FUNDS FOR THE WORKS HERE.

WE APPRECIATE SO MUCH THE CARDS AND LETTERS WE ARE CONTINUING TO RECEIVE FROM YOU ALL. PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US AND WE WILL TRY TO ANSWER THEM. (PROBABLY THE THIRD TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK).

EXTRA: ROBIN HENDERSON FROM GOROKA ALSO ACCOMPANIED US ON THE VILLAGE SCHOOL TRIP.
