Dear Brethren;

Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord

OVER 1700 ATTEND MEETING NIGHTLY AVERAGE OVER 1500

Wow! We had set a goal of 800 for our campaign. They came out of the woodwork for this one. Praise the Lord that we had two large buildings that we were able to utilize. We had the adults meeting in the auditorium and the children in a large classroom. We took out all the desks and the kids huddled on the floor. While the children were having a puppets show and singing the adults were viewing slides on the Bible. After the slides finished for the adults then the kids saw then while we had preaching for the adults. Rex Morgan, David Lock and several of the local men from Lae came up and headed this campaign. The response was fantastic. The first night of the meeting the Salvation Army brought two bus loads of their people over to see the slides. The meeting was scheduled to go through Thursday night. But on Wednesday night Satan came in force. We had over 300 young men (toughes) who came to see what they could do. Most had been drinking. So we decided to finish the meeting that night. I forgot to tell you that on Tuesday night we had over 1700 present, the lights went out! We were just leaving the auditorium when power went out for the rest of the evening.

The reason Jab is smiling, is that I had just taken my plate (false teeth) and put them on his shoulder.

For you who think I look older, you ought to live in my body for awhile. I feel older and my beard is full of white 'hair. Something my 'head will never have.

Have you ever tried to control 1700 people who are afraid of the dark! That was some experience. Never again I hope!
We are still following up on contacts from this meeting. Many people are continuing to study as a result of this campaign contact.

JASON BECOMING AN OLD MAN
During May (10th) Jason turned 8 years old. oh, how the time flies.

GOROKA BIBLE SCHOOL READIES FOR NEW TERM
Our Bible School will be starting up again June 1st. With Andy gone on leave I am in charge. When Andy left we weren't sure whether we would be having another term or not. We didn't have any monies. Andy and Catherine stopped in San Diego and spoke to them. The Pacific Beach congregation helps on a monthly basis and they took up a special contribution which is allowing up to operate for another month. We continue to pray that the Lord will raise up a congregation to oversee the Bible School and provide the necessary $600.00 a month needed to train these men to be the leaders and evangelists the congregations in this country need. Pray with us for this!

Even though our nightly average for the meeting was over 1500 the attendance for our regular services has not increased measurably. On Sunday morning we average just over 100 with 57 Christians in attendance. One of the major factors in this is that the weather have been just beautiful and a lot of people go back to the village for the weekend or it's just too nice to go to church. We are working on it though. One young woman, Teri Ono, who has been out of service for over two years came forward Sunday. Praise the Lord !

We appreciate your letters and prayers for our work.

In Christian love;
