Dearest Friends and family

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!!!!!! Your prayers are working!!!!!!

The stress test went well with them finally shutting the thread mill off without me saying "uncle".  110%

Last Friday, I was able to do my blood work early before the segmental pressure test. After the segmental pressure test the technician said she thought the pressures were good and thought they might have been a bit premature saying I had Chronic venous disease, but I will keep my stockings on until I hear from the doctor in Little Rock.

The prostate referral decided I should have a prostate biopsy April 23rd even though the PSA hadn't changed much but I told them I did not plan on coming back for 18 months. They were also surprised that I had not started getting my disability payments from the VA yet. (Them and me both!

Monday in Mt Vernon I had the echocardiogram. They also did an ultrasound on my aorta and both tests came back as my heart and aorta are 100%.

Tuesday (April 9) Little Rock: We got here early enough to talk to Apple care in Little Rock. I was having problems with my laptop. The new MacBook Pro computer is under warranty until the end of April - they have to change out the hard drive tomorrow. (No replacement parts so we have to come back next week and pick it up on our way back through from Alabama to Joplin, repaired.)

I had vascular ultrasound on my legs. The ultrasound confirmed what I have been saying about the legs - I have 100% blood flow in them top to bottom and back.  I should not have to wear the stockings! Also I learned that high blood pressure does not result in periphial veneous disease! This is from the lab technician.

The surgeon is being strongly advised that he needs to address the abscesses and the underlying cause of the NOT healing. This might be in the form of referring me to infection diseases section which then will be step 1 - step 2- step 3 again. We will see.

TODAY
Wednesday - the answer to prayers! The surgeon talked with me, looked at the other test results and asked why I was there. (But knew I had to come through him to get to the next doctors. The VA way!) He said I DO NOT HAVE PERIPHAL VENEOUS DISEASE and I DO NOT HAVE TO WEAR THE THIGH HIGH STOCKINGS ANYMORE! He handed me off to a team of infectious disease doctors. I finally have the doctors I have been wanting to talk to since getting back here a month ago.

I talked with them (they were very attentive) and we have a plan: they understand and agree that I have a bacterial infection (not periphal veneous disease) but they need to do a culture. The problem is I have no new seeping abscesses right now and thus the plan is, if and when I get another abscess getting ready to break I am to call them (on their personal number) and they will call Fayetteville where we will go and have it drained for a culture. After the culture is taken they can then find out what I have and hopefully treat it with the right medicine instead of just giving me any and every antibiotic. So for the next few weeks (until my prostate biopsy April 23th) we will pray for healing and if an abscess comes up be ready to go to Fayetteville for a culture swab.

It is so nice to be stocking-less and know the Lord has been answering our prayers.

We are still planning to go back to Vanuatu May 16th and if we have to have follow-up treatment with any result from the prostate biopsy we will deal with that if it comes up.

Another answer to pray (it just keeps getting better people): we received a settlement check from the insurance company for the water damage to the container contents and truck in Vanuatu - they settled for $10,550More than we even hoped and imagined!

This is allowing us to buy the parts (and take back) what I will need to rebuild the Dodge transmission and replace the power steering unit, the oxygen sensors, the idler pulley and other parts. I have also found and bought repair parts for the Opel Vita transmission that will allow us to get that car back on the road as well. We will also be able to locally replace the sewing machines, medical supplies and flooring that was ruined.  Fantastic!

Please continue to pray that the legs will heal and that we will secure funds to start clearing land and building for the school when we get back.

Thank you Lord!

Grace & Peace
